Pause/Mute on Phone Turned Screen Down

What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

When the phone is turned screen down, the remote should be aware of this,
and mute or pause what is currently playing. The user should have the
option in settings to mute or pause. 

When the remote is turned the correct way up, the media continues playing.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
0.67

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
HTC Hero - Android 1.5

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
Windows Xp MCE SP3
Ubuntu 9.10

Please provide any additional information below.
The remote should still do this, even if screen lock is active. 

On my phone (I assume its the same for all androids), wifi will turn off
when screen lock comes on to save battery, you can change this in wifi
settings, could the remote override this behaviour ?
