can we please stop with the "me too" comments. if it affects you, star the
issue. and
you'll be updated when changes come about. I feel most of us are having this
issue, so
just wait it out until meklort (or someone else) can contribute a fix.

Same, however I ran "Fix Bluetooth" in NBI and now whenever I wake my computer
from sleep the WiFI and
Bluetooth system menu icons freeze up. When I mouse-over the system bluetooth
and wifi icons I get a spinning
beachball, but only on those icons. I basically lose WiFi and Bluetooth and
have to restart.

I've had the same problem now because I use an external bluetooth. Using the
terminal-mod (which I'd prefer
not to since its not clean) worked in 10.5 but not 10.6. Could using an
injector:
http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=798&pid=3861&st=0&#entry3861

help? Be a bit easier to patch the injector since it loads prior to the kext,
use the same sed system as now and
work across multiple systems?

I had the same on the Mini 9 and Mini 10v. I fixed it, but it would be nice if
it was automatic.

I had this same issue with bluetooth. And now it works. I ran NetbookInstaller
0.8.4
RC1 again in my 10v (10.6.3) and turned everything off except the Fix bluetooth
and
click install. I hope this helps.

I ran NBI 0.8.4 RC1 with everything turned off except for bluetooth, it
completed then I restarted and nothing.
Same issue. No way for me to disable bluetooth, in the menu bar or sys prefs.
No fair! ;)

All Bluetooth functions working fine (including the weirder stuff like using my
Nexus
One as a broadband connectivity device via BT). I just can't turn it off.

Have tried the method recommended in Comment #11 above - ineffective; no change
anywhere I can see. Did not get the "freezing icons" problem noted in Comment #7

Have tried the kext in Comment #13 - also ineffective; no apparent difference
from
with the stock kext.

When you extract the .kext file in that zip file, right click on it and choose
"show
content". Inside, there is the real kext! I had the same problem as you before.

Original comment by zz.wa...@gmail.com on 4 Jun 2010 at 4:36

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Unpacked the .zip, "Show Package Contents" on the resulting kext, I see a whole
bunch
of aliases, folders, and plists. Are you referring to one of the kexts in the
Plugins
folder?

Original comment by adam.par...@gmail.com on 4 Jun 2010 at 4:20

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Funny. That .kext file in comment 13 fixed the problem of my bluetooth
connectivity breaking after waking from
sleep (issue ID #247) which is great! However I still do not have the option to
turn off bluetooth. Also, like
adam.parnau, I don't understand the whole "inside is the real .kext file" thing
either. I just installed it as is but I
am curious about what zz.wayne is talking about as well. Thanks!

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
To #17. When I unzipped the zip file, I got a IOBluetoothFamily.kext, but
inside that
folder, there is another IOBluetoothFamily.kext, which is the real kext. You
understand that kext is just a folder, not a "file".

... In any case, it didn't solve the problem of being unable to turn bluetooth
off.

I updated to 10.6.4 and same issue happened but I fixed it following this link:
http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/faqs-how-tos/7215-bluetooth-terminal-mod-print.h
tml?pp=40
Bluetooth now works perfectly and it can be turned off. Remember to rebuild
Extensions.mkext (if you don't know how, just run NBI again) before restarting.
I'm pretty sure this will work for 10.6.3 too. In case you want 10.6.4 you
have to install some kind of beta NBI. The NBI version for 10.6.4 can be found
here:

@jpicans Did you get phantom BT devices showing up in your BT system
preferences after you wake up the computer from sleep?

I have a working BT on a mini 10v with 10.6.4 without the Kexts in this thread.

It was with some combination of:
1. BT Term mod, then restart
2. Deleting the Bluetooth DUN in Networking in the Sys Prefs then adding it
back and
3. Running the NetBookInataller 20100616212351 build, reinstalling NBI,
extenstions, regenerating the DSDT and BT fix. Restart.

This works from waking from sleep.

Good luck.

After a while started having problems; devices I had configured previously
didn´t show up no more; I had to configure the devices almost every time I
wanted to connect to them. So finally went back to 10.6.2. Has anyone
confirmed comment 26 by m2hampden. Is it working without phantom devices?
