So, do I have to wipe and start from scratch booting and making 0.8.4 or is
there a way to recover with
NetbookInstaller?
Thanks!

I'm having the same problem as matthewquest. I believe I accidentally updated
to 10.6.3 without upgrading the
netbook installer to 0.8.4.
It seems to me the only way to remedy our problem is to wipe and start from
scratch, but I'm also having
difficulties getting the computer to boot from USB.
Any help would be greatly appreciated... i miss my netbook!

What i did was to install osx again on top of the old install without
formatting the
disk.. You still get all your data after the install is finished..

ok, color me confused here. i am running snow leopard 10.6.2 on a lenovo s10
(version 1) without any problems. i have installed using bauer's usb
installation
process using a vanilla retail installation disc. when originally installing
10.6.0,
the system automatically updated all the way through to 10.6.2 and i am
presently
using this configuration. however, when i auto-updated to 10.6.3...i
encountered the
error reported above by matthewquest (this thread). so to update to 10.6.3,
all i
have to do is update netbook installer to v0.8.4 and go through the entire
installation process from 10.6.0?
thanks in advance.

OK I have a EeePC1000 HA. Directions for NBI worked perfectly. Followed
directions to install the OS update, which I downloaded from Apple. Now I get a
kernel error OSX won't load. When I go back to NBI it starts to run, but can't
find mach_kernel. I read that the rc_1 installer should be used, but it's not
bootable as far as I can see (maybe I'm dense here...). Help?
