NBM 0.8.4 RC1 - Drop Down is broken for me #268

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download NBM 0.8.4
2. Run it
3. Drop down is blank (not even Mac HD is shown), when I click on the drop down 
arrow I get no 
response
4. 0.8.3 final and 0.8.4pre work just fine for mr

What netbook are you using this on?
10v

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Drop down should show USB drive

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.8.4rc1, SL10.6.3 (updates performed recently)

Please provide any additional information below.
