Battery not recognized #289

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Boot computer
2.
3.

What netbook are you using this on?
Mini 10v

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Error message upon boot:  The battery is not recognized and will not charge.  
Press F1 to continue.  No negative outcome for the computer operation, but the 
battery icon on the top bar says Not Charging.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Current Netbook Installer, OSX 10.6.3

Please provide any additional information below.

The battery isn't compatible with your machine / bios version.

Is this something I can fix or change in the bios?  The battery was recognized 
for the first 6 months I had the machine.

I have the exact same issue and I am wondering if reflashing the bios will fix 
it. I'd rather that netbook-installer tok care of it somehow though. Any leads 
or thoughts appreciated.

I called Dell and they sent me a replacement battery.
The problem was fixed, most likely a defect.
