What steps will reproduce the problem?

Using h-mosl1063 and NetbookBootMaker 0.8.4 RC1, when rebooting from HD:
1. Get message: "Unable to patch 64 bit kernal. Please use arch=i386 to use a
10.6.2 or newer kernal"
2. When stop Chamelian loader and enter arch=i368 get System Panic (cpu 0
caller 0xc5bb3a2) "No HPETs available ...
3. When load with arch=i386 ForceHPET=y same result.

What netbook are you using this on?
A Dell Mini 1012, BIOS A09

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: boot into system. Instead, I get the panic screen

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.8.4 RC1, Snow Leopard 10.6.3 (Mac.OSX.Snow.Leopard.v10.6.3-HOTiSO)

Please provide any additional information below.

If I boot from the installation disk and select newly installed OSX partition
on HD then all is good - system full function. Then ran NetbookInstaller 0.8.4
RC1 with same result.

Tried again with NetbookBootMaker 0.8.4 pre. Initial boot was OK after I used
arch=i386 parameter.

I went off and had dinner whilst the network cable was still plugged in. After
dinner I ran NetbookInstaller 0.8.4 pre. Whilst away at dinner, SL had done
its software update downloads and when I went to shutdown I has 6 updates to
install.

System Panic on next reboot - "Version mis-match between Kernel and CPU . . .
I'll try again without allowing the Mac software update.

This time, successfully installed SL 10.8.3 using NB 0.8.4pre and executed NI
0.8.4pre. Still got an issue needing arch=i386

Can I force 32bit with a lin in
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist ?
If so, what is the syntax?

Found the syntax. Will try

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>arch=i386</string>
