GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install 10.6.0 using NetbookMaker/NetbookInstaller 0.8.4 RC1
2. Everything works great.
3. Update to 10.6.3 via Software Update.
4. Everything works great.
5. Use Merklot's patch NBMaker/Installer.
6. Upgrade to 10.6.4 via software update.
7. Cannot boot. "Unsupported CPU"

What netbook are you using this on?
Dell Mini 10v NICKLEODEON edition.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Success expected. Kernel Panic instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
NBI 0.8.4 RC1 + patch for Extensions folder size.

Please provide any additional information below.
I have 2 Dell mini 10vs. The two NICKLEODEON versions exhibit the same problem
when upgrading to 10.6.4. The regular, non-nickleodeon version updates just
fine.
I did notice that while the nickleodeon minis do not have bluetooth, but the
bios reports that it does.

I've tried again with the 10.6.5 updater.
I get a 'No' sign at boot-up displayed over the apple logo.
I tried booting with the -v kernel parameters and this is what I see:

.

.
Not loading kext com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController - not found and kextd not
available in early boot.

I came from 10.6.4. Ran NBI 2010061621351 as per Meklort's blog. Then updated
to 10.6.5 with the result of the "No" sign also.

Booted with recovery=y and then ran NBI 0.8.4 RC1. Now it can boot up normally,
but no wifi.

Tried NBI 2010061621351 again, but same error happens.

Note: My mini is just a regular 1011, not nick edition.

I was able to install 10.6.4 (from working 10.6.2) on my Nick edition 10v be
doing the following:

1. Install 10.6.4 from software update.
2. Reboot
3. Hold shift while booting
4. Type 'recovery=y' at hard-disk selection screen
5. Boot into recovery mode and run NetBookInstaller 0.8.4 RC1 (default options
selected)
6. Reboot

I also had to shutdown, boot into recovery mode again, and rerun
NetBookInstaller (this time only selecting "Fix Bluetooth") in order to get my
Bluetooth working again.

I have not yet updated to 10.6.5, but 10.6.4 seems to be working great.
