Please provide any additional information below.
This is a reproducable problem. Boot the netbook with any USB device (memory
stick, mouse transceiver, mobile broadband dongle) plugged into the rear left
USB port and the sound will not work. Also reproducable when shutting down the
netbook with a USB device plugged in the same port (whether present at boot or
not) and the same happens. A reboot still has sound failing though a second
reboot resolves the issue. Also happens if any USB device is used in rear left
USB port even when removed before shutdown. So basically rear left USB port is
now useless.
Only device that seems to NOT cause issues when plugged in/taken out of this
port ONCE BOOTED (still affected if plugged in at boot or left in at shutdown)
is a USB Logitech wireless mouse transceiver.
Both other USB ports appear unaffected by the issue.
Only appears to have happened since 10.6.5.
Am restoring 10.6.4 image to see if this is an issue not noticed before though
tis is unlikely.
