Is it just me, or doesn't this UI allow to browse through the file system? This is one of the most important features airsonic provides. Depending on how big or structured your collection is, browsing with just the tags is a pain ita :(

Please don't ever remove the ability to browse the file system...

No i meant it's important that you still have the option of displaying your own sorting in the file system (as it currently is on the left side) and not relying solely on tags. This is one of the features that makes me prefer Airsonic to all other music server software. KODI is a good example for best of two worlds: having the option to browse through all the processed metadata and coverarts based on tags and scraped infos from databases on the Internet (for example discogs or last.fm for music) PLUS the possibility to browse in the source file system as it is sorted by the server admin.

Ahh I see, I always thought the browsing was tag-based in Airsonic.

TL:DR: Just my humble opinion. If new UI do it properly. :) Besides the Option to set browsing by Files/Folders or Tags there are some other features missing too. If i Browse the Demo the following is coming to my mind (i just looked over it. maybe i did miss something. Maybe also already addressed in feature requests for refit ui):

• How to share publicly by link
• The ability to "Start Radio" from the Artist page which is queuing random songs of similar artists
• Showing bitrate and file type info
• Global select/filter top level folder (Library). I have one with audio books. Which should not be played in random music queues
• The shuffle button is only shuffling "Top Songs" instead of the whole artists releases
• Playlist management is somewhat rudimentary. only single songs can be added. Order of titles is as far as i see fixed and cannot be changed
• Everything is kind of big and wastes my screen estate. Maybe some option for "Detailed"/"List" view. And/or compact view with less emptiness between rows for example.

And so on ... Please. If you ever change UI. Do it properly. I would love to have mobile support and maybe some modern UI touch up. But rather not at the cost of crippled PC support and missing features. I do not like most products of big tech because of exactly this problem. Everything is getting more dummy secure. But features for power users are stripped away. The "i only want a play button which plays what $company thinks is good for me" users would not bother to enter an URL into an app anyway so please keep it advanced. And if there is no time. Concentrate on stability and security. I'm quite happy feature wise. :) Keep up the great work. :+1:

You can browse folders. what I miss is the ability to play random from a folder. My preferred structure is: Genre/Artist/(year)Album but i also have unsorted incomming folders (recently added) that i like to random play.
