Notification of Gtalk Google Voice messages.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive a message via Gtalk/Google voice
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I hoped that when receiving gtalk messages or sms via google voice I could be 
notified via the applet on my desktop.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v 0.2.4 Android client on Froyo 2.2  and 0.2 of the Desktop client on Ubuntu 
10.04 Linux

This isn't the same as an email notification. This is more on the level of sms. 
If its not possible please say so.  I use gtalk and gvoice for any txt 
communication.

Sorry, I failed to explain it properly - it's not possible to grab generic 
notifications from other applications, be it gmail, google voice, gtalk, etc., 
unless they explicitly broadcast those (which they don't).
