Animated meshes w/SubDivisionMesh boolean attribute: creases not restored upon import in Maya #338

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
>Animated meshes, despite the presence of the SubDivisionMesh boolean attribute
on the shape, do not have their creases restored upon import in Maya.
>Skin and animate mesh w/creases, export to alembic and import using Maya.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
>Creases on the animated mesh. Instead, see none.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
>Version 1.0. Linux Windows and Mac.

Please provide any additional information below.

>Attached is an example Maya2014 file that contains a cube with edges creased,
smoothSkinned, animated by joints. Two alembic exports are included, one of a
single frame where the edge creases are restored on import, the other with 10
frames of animation where they are not. Thanks again.

Are you able to test this with Alembic 1.5.4?

After some additional testing the crease values are present in both cases.
