Hi,

It would be terrific to have a localised Arabic interface? For a long time
Android did not support Arabic at all but it seems that Android 4 now supports
Arabic. Are you able to confirm this?

We use a web site named Amanuens to facilitate localisation of And Bible. So I
will set you up on Amanuens. You should receive a registration e-mail.

JSword is a library we use and among many other things it provides localised
bible book names. It seems that Arabic book names are present but have been
restricted for use in Egypt. Could Arabic bible book names be different for
Egyptians or do you think this is a mistake?

Thank you a lot for the quick response,

about supporting Arabic language in android; there is android roms supports
Arabic by default, made specially for middle east, I'm using Galaxy sII and
still didn't upgrade to ICS, and my mobile supports Arabic,
about ICS, I don't know if it's supporting Arabic by default or not, but what I
read that Samsung didn't produce the middle east yet,

thanks for the Amanuens access, I'll discover it,

about book bible names; I downloaded the "smith van dyke ketab el hayat" Arabic
bible, and I thought that bible books names (in choose bible screen) would be
in arabic as wrtten book, for me it doesn't matter because I speak English well
but simple users would suffer from that.

I think it's handled from another place no in the apk application,

thanks a lot,

I have just asked about Arabic book names on the JSword mailing list and there
is a suspicion that Egyptian Arabic is distinctive. Do you know if that is the
case?

I can enable the Egyptian Arabic Bible book names we have for all Arabic users
and you can tell me if they are correct. If they are not correct then I can
add them for you to translate in Amanuens if that is okay.

After you translate a string it is good to press the small icon on the left
that looks like a piece of paper with a pink line along the bottom
(https://my.amanuens.com/Content/Untranslated.png) to mark it as translated.

Thanks for your contribution
Martin

Emad has added short bible book names and begun the Arabic localisation which
is being continued in Transifex so I am closing this Issue report.
