KJV with Strong's and Morphology #40

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download the KJV with Strong's and Morphology codes
2. Open the KJV bible
3. View the text

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see Strong's numbers and Morphology codes, however all that I see
are Strong's numbers. The links to the Strong's numbers work fine. However
since there are no morphology codes listed there are no links to the
definitions of the codes.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I am using
version 0.2.01 on Android.

Please provide any additional information below.
I have downloaded the KJV with Strong's and Morphology codes, Packard's
Morphological Analysis Codes, Robinson's Morphological Analysis Codes, Strong's
Greek Bible Dictionary and Strong's Hebrew Bible Dictionary.

It was never implemented. You are the first person to comment. I was never
sure how important Morphology was.

Thank you for replying.

In my opinion Morphology is extremely important because it gives you tense
and mood along with other grammatical information that helps interpret the
original text.

Is there a plan to implement? How difficult would it be to implement?

Thanks.

It shouldn't be hard. It might not be in the next release but I will try to do
it soon.

That is awesome! It will make in depth study very beneficial.

Thank you very much. It is greatly appreciated. I really like this app and I
am very happy that I found it. I use these mobile study apps a lot. My
previous phone was Windows Mobile and I had a great study tool on there, but
had to upgrade my phone and android seemed the way to go. I spent a lot of
time searching for a bible study app that would suit my needs and this was
just the app I needed.

Thank you for all of your time and effort that you put into this
application. It is appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt Shafer

I too used a WM app called Pocket e-sword for many years. I started And Bible
last year when Rick said Pocket e-Sword was no longer supported and WM was
becoming unpopular. I wanted to write something I could change because I had 1
or 2 minor niggles with e-sword. I also thought others could use it too.

Yes, that was the app I used. I was really disappointed when it was no
longer supported / developed. I thought it was a very versatile app. Thanks
again for writing this application I really like it and it is very useful.

Are there any thoughts of adding the strongs or morphology to any of the
other translations?

Quite a few books already have Strongs: abp, abpgrk, byz, chiun, chiuns,
elzevir, frasegond, kjv, lxx, osmhb, rst, rusvzh, rwebster, spatdp, tr, whnu.
Although some of those are foreign - Russian and Chinese.

NT morphology was in the last release but Crosswire have no OT morphology
dictionaries so I have not implemented that yet.
