When digesting a small amount of template, you sometimes need very small volumes of the enzyme(s). The viscous enzyme solutions are hard to pipet normally, and volumes less than 0.5 µL are basically impossible.
The new reactions framework can pretty easily accommodate a mix with the enzyme, the buffer, and half the water. This leads to a 2x enzyme mix that just needs to be mixed with an equal volume of DNA. I think that'd be a good option to have.
