One thing I was thinking about was how to incorporate various government actions (i.e. stay at home order enacted), to make it more interactive. So they would see, ideally, that the major decreases only happen after action was taken.

Love these ideas! I think the world choropleth is really great, and the timelapse examples capture what we'd be aiming for (the CO2 and global temperature maps especially).
