Skill Tagging #64

From experience I've noticed that not every Magento developer creates scripts within standard. A good amount still uses Google and Stackoverflow. I've seen a hacky developer receive the Magento certification so in the back of my mind, a developer stating their Magento certified doesn't carry much credibility. It's sad because there are legitimately great developers out there that are in fact Magento certified and their are also great developers that aren't. Maybe it would be a good idea to not allow developers to add certain tags to their profile unless they pass a small quiz. It will prevent those that don't know the skill to stay away from tagging themselves to gain visibility and give the ones with the skill the credibility they deserve.

Interesting idea. Totally agree re: fake certs. Kinda sucks. They still provide a measure of a signal though. The main thing I try to do currently is to let people associate tags to actual work they've done (projects) - I think that's one of the simplest ways to see some real world experience associated to those tags.

That's a great idea. The only tough spot i see is the developers that work for Agencies might have an issue with their agency if they post those "agency" projects. Technically they're a work for higher so they don't hold the rights to show off the work most of the time.
