Not well tested, but I used it for a few simulations without problem.

Hi @hegelab

Thank you for the PR. I could not merge this as it required additional cleanup. I noticed the PR very late into my update for supporting the new release. Also, additional documentation changes were required which was not part of the PR. But, really appreciate the help!
