The drawer is no longer part of the default Boost theme in Moodle 4.0. Currently the only way to access My Media is by adding a Navigation block to the Dashboard, and then the link is not very obvious (under Site home).
The link to My Media should probably be moved to the User menu, as Moodle has done with most other drawer navigation items in 4.0.
The addition of the My Media link to custommenuitems is problematic for a couple reasons:
Adding it to the end of the configured custommenuitems may not be appropriate for the site's needs. We have custommenuitems that include external links, and it does not make sense to have internal links, external links, then another internal link in the top navigation.
Manually adding My Media to custommenuitems to change to the desired order causes it to appear to non-logged in users on the home page.
The primary entity of the LMS is a course, so having My Courses in the top navigation makes sense. However, all supporting (and especially user-centric) resources have been moved from the drawer to the user menu. My Media makes more logical and usability sense in the user menu than in the top navigation.
I will submit a patch as a pull request to make the adjustment in the hopes that you will accept. Thanks!
