Non-transparent images #51

The last set of icons (aquarium, canoeing, themepark, etc.) don't have a
transparent background. They are surrounded by a rather ugly white box
instead.

BTW Some more suggestions: mine (like in coal mine, marble mine, etc.),
fjord, rock, rowing (like in rowboats, but also Venice gondolas), cable
carts, temples (like greek/roman temple, hindu temple), ferry, square
(like in town squara, piazza, plaza, place), bull fight arena, field
hockey field, olympic site, ski jump, bob sleigh track

Some more that I came up with after sending this mail: gates (like gates in
medieval
city walls that you will see in a lot of old European cities), ice skating, go
karting, formula 1 racing, conference center, shopping mall, waterfall,
sailing,
lake, shore, hydropower dam, glacier, flower/vegetable auction, flower fields
(like
the tulip fields in NL).

I know that this is a lot of different stuff, and I really don't expect icons
for
each and every one of them. Was simply going through my own bookmark file
seeing
whether there was a good icon for all the bookmarks that I made over the years
and
these are more or less the gaps that I came up with.

PS Not that I am very creative or very good with graphics, but can somebody
explain
in laymen's terms how you can create these icons. Because if I can get some
good
tutorial I might be interested in creating a couple of easy ones myself :-)

Hello Willem

Nice suggestions you have !

I am actually in vacation so I cant help you that much with a
tutorial but : There is a template photoshop file available on
the home page. Get it and lets see if you understand
something :)
If not, wait for my return at the end of the week

regards
Nico

Willem,

Here are the the icons from the last set with the transparent background. The
Zoo one
is with the Culture & Entertainment background since it belong to this set and
not
the Tourism & Nature.

Glad you like them! Enjoy!

Willem,

Regarding your other suggestions I have some of them and I'll post them later,
when
Nico is back from his holiday.

In the mean time I will post all your suggestions in 6 different post to make it
easier to follow up. I'll also post an Issue about the Guide/Tutorial for
making icons.

If you click on the star in front of the Issue number you will get e-mail
updates
when someone post something in that issue.

Regards,

Matthias

Willem,

I think I checked and edited the non-transparent icons you pointed.
Thanks a lot :)
You can pick the new ones on the frontpage.

I checked another time, but I think it's OK : you may need to empty the cache
of your
browser, because it saved the last version of the file. Just hit F5, can solve
the
problem.
