Hi there! Which desktop environment are you using? And which shortcut did you configure?
Kde plasma(version 6), and i tried configuring every combination. Even what preconfigured to prototype-menu is not working. I have to right click on syatem tray icon then left click on menu to open it.
Are you on Wayland or X11?
wayland with xwayland
also as you shown in documentation here about menu shortcut https://github.com/kando-menu/kando/blob/main/docs/configuring.md#menu-shortcuts-vs-simulated-hotkeys, that shortcut option is not showing in my case.
OK, it's working. All I have to do is set a shortcut-id for my menu, then open kde system-settings → keyboards → shortcuts → scroll down to kwin and click on kwin (under "+ add new" tab) → then on the right side(kwin Shortcut IDs tab) scroll down to "kando - (your shortcut ID)" and from there you can assign any shortcut you want
Yeah, I was just about to tell you this. In the near future, I'll do a tutorial on this! On KDE/Wayland and on Hyprland Kando cannot bind shortcuts on its own. There you have to assign the global shortcuts in the system settings.
I am stuck on this right now. Where exactly can I set a shortcut id for kando and in settings->keyboard->shortcuts->kwin I see no "+ add new" tab.
Could someone help me out here?
I am currently not at home, so I cannot send you an image. The steps should be as follows:
Does this help already?
Awesome, this fixed it. Btw. I didn't know about the editor yet, it looks absolutely awesome!
I installed latest version using aur, including all dependencies that kando requires. Everything works out of the box except shortcut key not opening kando menu. My distro is Garuda linux which is based on arch. Everything is upto date.
