Hi there & thanks for the report! This simply not yet possible. If you are willing to run Kando from source, changing the colors is pretty easy though.

The next release of Kando is just around the corner and will bring amongst other things the ability to choose your own icons for the items. Then, in the next version thereafter, I plan to add support for menu themes! Yet we don't have an issue to track the progress, so it's good you created one :wink:

Thanks, will it be possible to dynamically change the theme? I just have a color generation script and it would be nice to have an automatic change

Maybe themes could expose some kind of color palette or accent colors which could be configured by the user. Then your script could modify these accent colors...

why not CSS?

Well, the themes will be written in CSS. Of course your script could either directly write complete theme or modify an existing one. But I think that it would be both easier for you and cooler for the user if all themes used some predefined CSS variables as "accent colors" which you could set with your script.
