I liked your preprint and am very supportive of the idea of "patching science". I wanted to comment quickly on a couple other projects that may be of interest to you.
First, building on this bioRxiv comment, our Manubot project is an open source approach for living, collaborative manuscripts written on GitHub. We've used this to update or maintain manuscripts post-journal publication.
Also, Arcadia Science wrote a very interesting perspective on their plans for publishing versioned manuscripts and iteratively updating them in response to community feedback.
