The beam weapon (5) seems to work in terms of collision detection (the beam turns blue on hit), but it makes ships not draw when active. Planets, the beam itself, the HUD, and even ship targeting reticle continue to render.
Rewritten basically from scratch, still don't know why the issue existed in the first place but it's gone in 112
