The documentation correctly states that "a lot of dishonest hosting providers will run their OpenVZ/LXC containers inside another virtual machine" but it fails to mention that a lot of honest providers will run their OpenVZ/LXC containers inside another virtual machine and tell you so upfront.
There is nothing inherently wrong (and much that's inherently right) about running containers inside a virtual machine.
