Design a logo / find a name #7

We obviously need a logo for the App and for that we probably first need a name. Any suggestions are welcome!

While I do not dislike the current name, finding another one probably won't hurt. For that, we should take into account

The fourth point dares one to use movie or book titles, however then we would have to watch out as not to infringe on copyright ;-) Just my 2cts.

You are exactly right.

So, just for having it written down somewhere: I think our goal is to make an learning-app that is really tailored for learning Japanese. It helps you learning Kanji, Words and simple Phrases. Also we have a focus on grammar like word flexions. It's not a standalone app though, it should rather support you learning words and training grammar learned during a japanese-course. Whats special is that you can choose how to learn those. So it's quite individual and should satisfy many different people.

That's my Vision so far.

Then later you get all the really fancy stuff, with advanced statistics, Learning with audio and images.

Maybe use our initials japanesefied? ニジョチロジャ (Nijochiroja) - Sounds rather random maybe a bit less チロジョ (Chirojo) - thats better, still somewhat random

I also like to say that I like the idea naming our app 'sakura'. There are no japanese-learning-apps called anything like that. Many people understand and associate it with Japan. And our app should be beautiful - both in use and appearance - like a cherry blossom.

I personally took a liking to the word sakura myself. I support the idea of that name.

Hanafuda card style (reminds me of memo cards) with a cheeryblossom (to fit the name "sakura") as logo?

janlucaklees commented 7 years ago

Would like how that looks

We could for fun's sake keep the current name and add "(name subject to change)" to it, as in "Kannji (name subject to change)". Stein's Gate reference, anyone?
