As I'm coding it, I wonder if the 4 components of the emissions may be grouped in 2 components instead:

From ๐Ÿ‘‡

ex1. Emissions from consuming public cloud's services ex2. Emissions from manufacturing IT equipments and air conditioners ex3. Emissions from transferring data from a data center to other data centers and to the internet ex4. Embodied emissions from building the data center

To ๐Ÿ‘‡ new1. Emissions from the public cloud's data centers new2. Emissions from the data transfer

new1 being the sum of everything that is related to the DC:

I think it makes sense because ex1, ex2 and ex4 are all tied to the DC, while ex3 is external to the DC, since it's an assessment of the emissions for transferring over networks outside of the DC

Hi!

Yes you're right. Can you make the update?

  • ex1: compute and storage primitive consumption, including C and D subcomponents (running IT room network, air conditioning and power equipments)
  • ex2: the manufacturing of all equipments (directly tied to the primitives' consumption)
  • ex4: the construction of the building, idem, tied to the primitives' consumption

I think it makes sense because ex1, ex2 and ex4 are all tied to the DC, while ex3 is external to the DC, since it's an assessment of the emissions for transferring over networks outside of the DC
