There are a couple similar projects for recording macOS system audio that are set up + work in similar ways (e.g. with Multi-Output Device configuration), e.g. iShowU Audio Capture and BlackHole. Is it in scope to perhaps support these or other tools as well? As far as I can tell, Soundflower isn't a maintained project anymore – it still works on the newest versions of macOS, so yay, but was thinking extended support (e.g. allowing users to edit the config file to point to an arbitrary .kext file or something instead of just Soundflower) might be helpful too!
