Select Telugu, or Afrikaans, or possibly any non-default language via AB 
Settings language
Go to book selector (or chapter selector) grid
Rotate device
Constant screen flashing

I'm not sure that it was related to rotating the device - as I don't recall 
rotating it to get the symptoms. On my phone there was a message about 
something being length=0 (which didn't appear on the tablets); so I wonder if 
there is a zero-length string somewhere in the translated materials that is 
doing something strange...? Just guessing, and trying to be helpful.

I have found that the flashing also comes when (using the Telugu interface) and 
trying to navigate to the settings again. It doesn't seem to have any 
connection to rotating, but rather that it can't display something somewhere.

This problem started with Android 4.? so many users will not be affected.
