Editor redesign stage 2 of 3: finalize the sidebars' behaviour and content #544

(This issue is a work log.)

* build the sidebars for both views
* center the state content in its window
* make the sidebar collapsible
* make the right panel consist of accordion menus instead of collapsible blocks
* move the stuff in the Statistics tab, as well as most of the Settings tab, to 
the relevant places in the sidebar. Then remove the Statistics tab.
* consider moving parameters to the sidebar
