Here are some instructions for how to get more data from the Keck observatory archive.

0) Go to the Keck Observatory Archive website

Read the info on the website.

1) Click on the More Search Options button

In section "1. Choose Instrument" You will see Visible Band (0.3-1.0 Micron) options and Near-Infrared (1-5 Micron) options. Toggle the check box :ballot_box_with_check: so that all of the options are unselected :black_square_button: .

Under the NIRSPEC option click only on :ballot_box_with_check: high-disp :

2) Go to section "2. Choose File Types to Return"

Leave it as "Return any files (science and/or calibration)"

3) Under section "3. Enter Search Criteria:"

Click "single object center", and provide the full name of your object. The full name has to be the same as in Dr. Will Best's UltraCoolDwarf spreadsheet. Everything else can be blank. You can leave the "Radius" as 30 arcsecs.

For @dianag28 use 2MASS J05591914-1404488 for now (we may change this object later). For @karina-ks use 2MASSW J0036159+182110

4) Click on the button Search near the bottom of the page.

5) A Search Results page will appear.

Enter your email address in box 1.

Under 2. Choose whether to include calibrated/extracted/reduced/trs data (if available): You must click the :radio_button: Include extracted/calibrated data to make it become checked: :ballot_box_with_check:

6) Click "Download Selected Files"

You may want to visually scan through the results just for fun--- make sure that the Target Name column resembles the name of the object you put in. Usually the target name will be abbreviated.

7) You will get an email!

Click on the link in the email to download, and follow the instructions to download the files.
You will need to move the folder from where you downloaded it to the data/NSDRP/ directory within the bdexda/ project

8) To use this data, you will need to change the file names in the notebooks you run.

Finally got data back from Keck help desk, (#14 Struggles) and they had retraced my steps and sent me a new link to download from. Link wasn't what I needed, super important to emphasize number 5 on this list when trying to download the data.

Also: Use Safari to download the data because Chrome wasn't working as well
