Hi @C-Lion, this sounds pretty cool.

However, I was unable to find "programming courses and hackathons for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels" on either the GitHub page or the website. This repository is about online courses, in case that wasn't clear. If they indeed do fit into this description, can you show me where they are?

I didn't post those links because our Summer of Code Course just ended last week. People can preregister for our Winter of Data Program at https://1mwtt.kartra.com/page/Bdx41.

We are not selling courses like other websites. We are using the time between our offerings to correct a number of access and publicity issues so I shared the parent GitHub repo where everything for the public is/will be stored.

All Summer of Code registrants had access to mentoring via a private Discord server during the course and for two weeks after. All our course content and assignments are uploaded to the Toolkitten repo and available publicly under the MIT open source license at https://github.com/1millionwomentotech/toolkitten/tree/master/summer-of-code

There is currently also the option to make a donation to the project at two donation levels which gives the donor (or their designated recipient, in the case of a gift,) 12 months access to the Summer of Code videos and our Discord channel, however at this point there is no official mentoring or DIY access available for SoC video lessons until we are we have at least 2000 gold level donors or the same level of funding by some other means. I will post access links here when they are available.

The 2018 info site is/was: https://1millionwomentotech.com/summerofcode1/ and we hope to offer a similar program next summer. Interested parties should sign up with the WoD link above so they will get updates when they are available. The free signup link on the original page takes you do the full course descriptions at https://memberportal.1millionwomentotech.com/diy which is no longer active since the course is over. That is why I didn't give you that link either.

Ok, how do you feel about linking to the Toolkitten/Summer of Code folder then? This is the link that matches the best to the other resources.

C-Lion commented 5 years ago

That would be fine. In the PR I put what seemed to be a match the other listings, because I thought putting "toolkitten" would need more explanation than there was room for in your format. Learning to code has enough challenges. Finding the resources shouldn't be one of them.😀
