Color schemes #23

Just started tossing some ideas around. I was thinking that we could have predominantly light background/dark text with each chapter using a different color in the header bar: something like a spectrum, but more muted colors to avoid eye strain.

Colourlovers.com is one of my favorite sites to get color inspiration from. Here are a couple of palettes that I thought might work well.

This one's a bit too bright; I just love the name: http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/1930/cheer_up_emo_kid

I love the hippie dippy color scheme. Maybe with a dark grey base color.

Was thinking the same thing, though less muted; after all, I'm doing Ruby. That's why I did my header with a gradient at least, so as not to overpower.

Another thought:

Each chapter will have its own color, so we can use variations on that within the chapter. I think making the background of the asides at 20% of the chapter's color will help them to stand out as different than the normal text. We could also make the buttons, strong and em tags that color.

I'm ok with most of that, save the buttons. Buttons carry certain connotations, especially since I have red. Big red button = bad.
