"contact guy" or "guy who pushes stuff" needed #65

We should make contact with a media guy with a high range in the game community. This could help us with #4 #11 #40 and #53

I was thinking about a guy like the phoronix guy, because they have on the on side enough contacts, which can maybe help us out, on the other side has the range we need to make the project public.

What do you think about the idea? An alternative would be to go with stores and proclaim this project in there. Maybe a big launch of beta clients in 4 or 5 stores would be a big push, too.

it seems like @Cheeseness want to be "that guy". Any comments on that?

It's tricky (as we mentioned in IRC just now) in that the project is still very young and needs more development and documentation before it can stand on its own.

I feel like reaching out to store operators directly is likely to give us the best results for now. We want to create a dialogue with them and if possible build a relationship where they can feel comfortable communicating and contributing back to us.

I'm happy to take on that sort of role (and have done a bit of that so far ^_^ ). I'm also comfortable doing GamingOnLinux.com news posts and stuff when we're ready for public announcement as well.
