track stuck in processing #207

User https://openstreetcam.org/user/fta mentions he has a track stuck in processing for 8 months now. Can we look into getting it unstuck please?

I have one as well though it's only going on 11 days.

Added a ticket for the next sprint to iterate all tracks with the processing status. Some form of data corruption caused by the clients is to blame for this cases, but we'll go through them and make all data that's usable active. cc @adriann-telenav

i've got three tracks stuck right now. please advise. i'm using the osc python scripts to upload GoPro imagery, is there perhaps an update i should take?

@rwelty1889 nothing you can do to get them unstuck, we will go over them periodically and eventually figure out a way to let this not happen 🚀

@rwelty1889 Hi, i noticed that you are using an older version of the upload scripts, please update since your version has some bugs that can lead to tracks getting stuck in processing or uploading.

ok, but before i update, has the bug with multiple upload threads been fixed yet? i have a small number of changes i made to facilitate reliability at the cost of performance, would like to know if i need to reapply them.

ok. looked at the new scripts. this is a complete rewrite. i'm fine with that, BUT, there were bugs in multi-threaded uploads and i very much want to know if those were fixed before i switch over, as it is not a trivial matter to apply my minor tweaks to the new code.

ok, attempted to run the new upload scripts from docker, failed. opened a ticket over in the upload scripts repo. i remember that docker failed with the previous version of the upload scripts too. has the docker install ever worked correctly?

Might be useful for you guys to implement a sort of "report error" type thing for tracks and give the user a little text box to explain the issue and why it should be looked at?

Hi, I have a couple track stuck in processing too, which prevents them being deleted.

Any news?

Apparently, this one is stuck in processing, since most previous ones were ready in a few hours and this one has been going on for about a day now.

It seems I spoke too quickly: the track has been completed, it is no longer in processing.

Perhaps some kind of indicator of processing status or ETA could be used to illustrate that the process is not stuck, just taking its time.
