should i upload? #217

i am going to arrange to drive 3 or so northeastern US road courses in the near future (Lime Rock Park, Palmer Motorsports Park, and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park) with an eye to uploading the imagery. i know that your competitor will handle this ok, but the openstreetcam.org site has always had issues with tracks that diverge from whatever variant of the OSM database you're using at the time. openstreetcam.org does not currently render raceways and i imagine that a trace of, say, Lime Rock, will not be handled correctly. so i'm leaning towards not uploading these tracks to osc.

I am not affiliated with OSC but I would encourage you to upload these photos. Even if they do not render correctly as purple lines on openstreetcam.org, the data is still recorded correctly on the server. The photos will show up in the correct locations in OpenStreetMap editors (e.g. iD or JOSM) and is very useful for editing the map.

I also noticed recently that at the highest zoom level (18), photos not associated with a roadway will still show up as green dots. Example below shows green dots where OSC does not show a roadway but OSM does:

i did laps of Palmer and Thompson with the GoPro last week. uploading now, we'll see how it goes.

@rwelty1889 hi , KartaView will use original gps match road network, you will see purple line if match success. you will see green dots if matched failed. There are probably two reasons： 1.GPS drift 2.The road you are collecting is a small road or new road, which may not exist in the road network for 2 we can update our road network. the photos will reprocess. for 1 Avoid rainy days, tall buildings and other environments, and use better equipment. So it makes sense to upload
