Cannot read property 'trigger' of undefined

• [ x] I have attempted to find the simplest possible steps to reproduce the issue.

  Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. create a modal with a select2
  2. bind widget with form field with setting below: echo $form->field($model, 'EnteredRoles')->widget(Select2::classname(), [ // echo Select2::widget([

         'name' => 'roles',
         'value' => (isset($selectedRoles)) ? $selectedRoles : [],
         'data' => $roleData,
         'theme' => Select2::THEME_BOOTSTRAP,
         'showToggleAll' => false,
         'options' => [
             'id' => 'select2-roles',
             'placeholder' => 'Select Role...',
             'multiple' => true
         ],
         'pluginOptions' => [
             'tags' => true,
             'allowClear' => true,
             'class' => 'tm-tag tm-tag-' . $theme[$session->get('color-theme')]
         ],
  
     ]);

  3. select 1 or more items from the list and click on clear.

     Expected behavior and actual behavior

When I follow those steps, I see...

this issue still existed after the update. I was using multi selection. When i hit the x button to remove an item, that error appears on the browser console. Please fix this.
