The LBIMS shall generate summary reports for registered end-users in the UI that can also be downloaded from the UI.

Example: Ability to carry out a spatial query per property (farm or portion or polygon) to obtain the vegetation types present, their conservation status, extent, amount protected, protection status, as well as a species list with IUCN status

Backend -- we need to be clear about where the data come from:

• geocontext service
• LBIMS web map services
• 3rd-party APIs

  environmental impact management role

  • highlight the percentage of vegetation transformed per vegetation type and relate these to conservation targets
  • All loss of indigenous vegetation not as result of approved EIAs, need also to take into consideration areas where urban sprawl taking place.
  • The BIMS must be able to perform a generic environmental screening process, reporting on the sensitivity of a proposed development footprint prior to the EAP/applicant lodging an application; The outcome of this should form a ToR for the assessment and should be in line with “guidelines for involving biodiversity specialists in EIA”
  • The screening tool must include an evaluation of conflicts with spatial planning instruments, including EMFs, Limpopo Conservation Plan, SDFs and Bioregional Plans.
  • The BIMS should be able to output a report containing a map of the proposed development footprint, summary biodiversity data, and impacts that are likely to be triggered on site. This should be similar to the SANBI LUDS output (see BGIS LUDS for examples)

Hi @gubuntu, @sonlinux has asked me to help him with the design of the PDF reports and in order to do so I need to understand the meaning of the data.

protected area management role report:

• Will the represented list of vegetation types just be a list? Will we categorise them? Also state their size (ha) or (%)? -What is their "conservation status"? Is this represented through the "ecological colour" as in Healthy Rivers or is it a number? Percentage? Will the system be able to calculate/ generate this?
• What do you mean by "extent, amount protected"?
• What are the protection status' - is it broken up into "Extinct, Threatened and Low Risk"?
• As for the IUCN status species list, isn't this going to make the report super long - or are we going to think about categorising this? On average, how many species belong in a zone?

environmental impact management role report

• I'm envisioning representing vegetation transformed per vegetation type in a percentage - maybe even two separate map views showcasing the change in time - but - what are the these "conservation targets" we relate to? A number?
• what is an EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) ? EAP? ToR?
• for the last point we are referring to http://bgis.sanbi.org/LUDS/Home/Municipality/232 as an example (just putting this here for myself)
