Uploading metadata records from QGIS and ESRI: Compliance with the standard #518

Open ThiashaV opened 1 year ago

The idea of using a standard is that it should not matter which application one use to create and maintain their metadata, one should be able to upload their metadata into the site as long as the mandatory elements are captured. This unfortunately is not the case. One cannot for example upload their ESRI, or QGIS metadata records into the site. How we have dealt with the fields seem not to have considered the SANS1878-1 standard. Our fields are given as full names instead of the tags (see sample xml record).
