Spatial layer - KBA #4155

This is an important spatial layer/filter to add if/when there is time available to do it.

@KSnaddon Are you possibly able to help with this?

KSnaddon commented 1 week ago

@helendallas I can certainly give it a bash. Do you know if the BIMS technical manual has been updated yet? I'm just wondering if the processes are still the same.

KSnaddon commented 1 week ago

@helendallas - Is there a standard email to send to SANBI to get permission to upload?

helendallas commented 1 week ago

@KSnaddon I am not really sure. @jeremyshelton perhaps you can check it out.

We can also seep this on hold until the revisions to the spatial uploading have been made. It might still be a while though as Dimas is finishing off other work first.

I am happy to park this until it is done. It would be a good tester, unless @jeremyshelton you think this is critical to get up soon. Dimas only has 4 hours left on FBIS to finalise the remaining tickets.

@KSnaddon I understand SABI are running a workshop on KBAs so perhaps this should be parked for now, as the goalpost might shift and then its just a waste of energy.

@helendallas Ok will do. I doubt they will change the boundaries, as a lot of work has gone into this current dataset. It will be updated in the future, but probably not now. I'm not a big fan of the KBAs as they are large, covering most of the W Cape! Anyway, I have loaded the layer to the SANBI workspace, so it's there for publishing when we're ready.
