Layers are uploaded in two folders:

qgis_layers
uploaded/layers

I think we should keep uploaded/layers only if possible because :

we don't need to store twice the same dataset. What happen when we decide to update an existing dataset in geonode ?
we can mount the uploaded folder into qgis-server I think

Can we remove qgis_layers ?

+100 for me. But who should we asked? @timlinux @gubuntu maybe you need to review this? Maybe this is related with replication stuff when using multiple QGIS Server?

I'd go with your recommendation @gustry. Try it an check for any unintended consequences. I'm not aware of the original reason for having both

Still an issue. Uploaded a tif on testing and the layer is loaded twice in /usr/src/app/geonode/qgis_layer and /usr/src/app/geonode/uploaded/layers
