Objective

We need to publish metadata for remote population datasets that need to be pre-processed before they can be used in InaSAFE

Solution

Go through https://docs.google.com/a/fossgisacademy.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZkL4QzzbUSb7AD5ElLwVfVXtra3XHvzJqeRpO4v_ZUw/edit?usp=sharing and identify feeds that meet these criteria:

• cannot be used without modification in InaSAFE. i.e. they need some preprocessing
• cover Tanzania or at least Dar es Salaam.
• are available as remote live feeds or downloads

Then

• download them or link to them,
• write script or module to prepare them for InaSAFE and that will do so in an automated fashion in future
• ingest the processed outputs into Geonode
• populate metadata records for them that meet InaSAFE requirements

scripts or modules to do this will be hosted on the same platform as our geonode instance
