Report on changes and improvements to the plugin #77

Create a report which deals with and discusses all of the changes/improvements made to the plugin, and why the changes/improvements were required.

A report has been put together which contains information on the required steps to convert the plugin to python 3, to work in qgis, and other required changes for the porting (e.g. qsettings to qgssettings). Updates or improvements are also discussed, and any changes to documentation (sphinx docs).
