The latest Fedora kernel seems to fix this. I am currently using:
❯ rpm -qa | grep kmod-nvidia
kmod-nvidia-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64-550.78-1.fc40.x86_64
~
❯ rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-modules-core-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64
kernel-core-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64
kernel-modules-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64
kernel-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64
kernel-modules-extra-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64

kernel-tools-6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64
kernel-headers-6.8.3-300.fc40.x86_64
With kernel 6.8.8 and drivers 550.78, all issues seem resolved:
nvidia-powerd
errors spamming the logSince I've used this kernel/drivers for less than 24 hours, I will wait a few more days and then close this issue (provided things keep working as they have for the past several hours).
I have been using the card without issue in the past 4 days. I tried several games from Steam, as well as used PyTorch for some tensor operations with acceleration. No issues at all. Suspend/Resume has also been flawless.
I currently go into the BIOS and set the graphics mode to "Intel UMA" in order to have a stable experience.
When enabling the Nvidia drivers, I get:
nvidia-powerd
errorsRegarding the last point, the log contains:
