Built article is large #79

The built index.html is currently ~1.6MB, which might get us in trouble with github eventually. The ideal way is to build on a server during deployment but netlify doesn't support R. Opening this issue to brainstorm.

Closing since moving to bookdown and using piggyback mitigated this issue.
