[ER] backup os SMS in an IMAP Folder #164

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Enhancement Request

The best way to backup SMS would be to save them in an IMAP folder, as
Gmail/Gapps provide IMAP (need to be activated in the parameters)

For a Gmail/Gapps account XOAuth cans be used to avoid giving the password in
the application.
for another kind of IMAP provider login/password might be necessary

It's important to be able to define waiting time before to save SMS (to allow
deleting them from the mobile)

See https://github.com/jberkel/sms-backup-plus for the implementation example
Use XOAuth to connect to gmail

Note: I am against this kind of enhancement. It's IMHO not part of the core
functionality that GTalkSMS should provide and would force us to concentrate on
things that are already implemented in other apps (and maybe better implemented
as we could). This is a typical case of "Feature creep"...

Still changing the tag type to enhancement

We keep in mind the XOAuth to connect to gmail for future implementation.
But this feature doesn't fit/match with GTalkSMS so I'm closing this ER
