Innr does not pair with homey #19

Open mamboritesh opened 5 years ago

mamboritesh commented 5 years ago

I have just bought homey and bought around 16 RGBW led strips and 16 tunabe gu10 spots and some e27 smart bulbs.

I am adding them one by one and it works fine untill some point. Now homey doesn't add any device. I deleted one device, did a reset and wanted to add it again, but that also didn't work. Also restarted the innr app, restarted homey completely and restarted my mobile phone. Nothing worked.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

kasteleman commented 5 years ago

So al the items you added are bulbs, no other sensors? Hoe long did you wait after a reboot of Homey before adding the last device? How many did you add already? After reboot of Homey, wait 15 -20 min before adding a device. Zigbee needs a little time to settle, routed need to rebuild etc.

Martin

I added:

I added them one by one: after adding the lamp, I removed it from the electricity en added another one. I did this in a continious pace. The reasoning: I am planning to move in my newly build house in november and wanted to add all devices to Homey before I move. So that in the new house I just have to put the lights in the sockets and they will work.

Suddenly Homey did not recognise a new INNR rgbw strip/gu10 spot anymore. I deinstalled the innr app (but then all devices were removed). So I started to add the devices again in the same way (one by one). The ones that weren't recognized the first time were perfectly added the second time. But then, also after a while Homey did not recognize a new lamp just like the first time. I removed Homey from electricity the whole night and put it back on this morning. After 15 min I tried to add again, but Homey still didn't recognise...

It looks like there is a maximum of lamps the INNR app can add?

Ah, that figures! You added the bulbs, but disconnected them from power. Therefore you introduced a max nummer of devices you can add! Nothing to do with the INNR app! Now you have not enough routers and therefore you can not add new devices. That’s how zigbee works and nothing specific for the INNR app nor Homey.

Power up a few bulbs you already added, preferably near Homey. Wait 15 min or so, or reboot Homey and wait 15 min. Then try to add another bulb.

It worked. Thank you. Didn't know that Zigbee worked like that. So it is better to add the devices and not remove them from power. For example: led strip will be placed behind a switch to turn it on/off. But when the switch is off, there is no power and the led will not be recognized by Homey. Will that cause problems?

Yes indeed, this could cause errors because other devices may use the strip as router to connect indirect with Homey and therefore could also become unreachable! So never cut power of a powered Zigbee device if you don’t explicit need to!

Martin

Hoi Kasteleman,

It worked. Thank you. Didn't know that Zigbee worked like that. So it is better to add the devices and not remove them from power. For example: led strip will be placed behind a switch to turn it on/off. But when the switch is off, there is no power and the led will not be recognized by Homey. Will that cause problems?

Ah, that figures! You added the bulbs, but disconnected them from power. Therefore you introduced a max nummer of devices you can add! Nothing to do with the INNR app! Now you have not enough routers and therefore you can not add new devices. That’s how zigbee works and nothing specific for the INNR app nor Homey.

Power up a few bulbs you already added, preferably near Homey. Wait 15 min or so, or reboot Homey and wait 15 min. Then try to add another bulb.

Martin

I added:

  • 5 x dimbare lamp E27
  • 2 x tunable amp E27
  • 3 x RGBW lamp E27
  • 5 x RGBW ledstrip
  • 16 x tunable GU10 spot

So al the items you added are bulbs, no other sensors? Hoe long did you wait after a reboot of Homey before adding the last device? How many did you add already? After reboot of Homey, wait 15 -20 min before adding a device. Zigbee needs a little time to settle, routed need to rebuild etc.

I have just bought homey and bought around 16 RGBW led strips and 16 tunabe gu10 spots and some e27 smart bulbs.

I am adding them one by one and it works fine untill some point. Now homey doesn't add any device. I deleted one device, did a reset and wanted to add it again, but that also didn't work. Also restarted the innr app, restarted homey completely and restarted my mobile phone. Nothing worked.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

It worked.

I added:

  • 5 x dimbare lamp E27
  • 2 x tunable amp E27
  • 3 x RGBW lamp E27
  • 5 x RGBW ledstrip
  • 16 x tunable GU10 spot

So al the items you added are bulbs, no other sensors? Hoe long did you wait after a reboot of Homey before adding the last device? How many did you add already? After reboot of Homey, wait 15 -20 min before adding a device. Zigbee needs a little time to settle, routed need to rebuild etc.

Hallo,

It worked.

So al the items you added are bulbs, no other sensors? Hoe long did you wait after a reboot of Homey before adding the last device? How many did you add already? After reboot of Homey, wait 15 -20 min before adding a device. Zigbee needs a little time to settle, routed need to rebuild etc.

Martin

I have just bought homey and bought around 16 RGBW led strips and 16 tunabe gu10 spots and some e27 smart bulbs.

I am adding them one by one and it works fine untill some point. Now homey doesn't add any device. I deleted one device, did a reset and wanted to add it again, but that also didn't work. Also restarted the innr app, restarted homey completely and restarted my mobile phone. Nothing worked.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

It worked.

I added:

  • 5 x dimbare lamp E27
  • 2 x tunable amp E27
  • 3 x RGBW lamp E27
  • 5 x RGBW ledstrip
  • 16 x tunable GU10 spot

So al the items you added are bulbs, no other sensors? Hoe long did you wait after a reboot of Homey before adding the last device? How many did you add already? After reboot of Homey, wait 15 -20 min before adding a device. Zigbee needs a little time to settle, routed need to rebuild etc.
