Katana Mk2 Compatability ? #8

Most of the Katana range was just updated to the Mk2 version. Are these 28 amp types available in the new models as well?

According to this the liveset didn't work in the Katana 50 Mk2, but perhaps some changes are required? https://www.reddit.com/r/BossKatana/comments/dcvk3i/returned_my_version_1_and_got_an_mkii/

Hard to say without a unit to poke at :yum: I'd give it a 50:50 chance you'll be able to access them. As is claimed in several places, the previous generation patches are said to be compatible. Meaning it's quite likely they're using the same or similar style DSP chip, they'll probably be SysEx controllable as well.

However, nothing stops Boss from locking away the DSPs capabilities this time around using updated firmware. To support their new (official) features they will need to modify the firmware. So perhaps the new lineup release is a motivation for them to lock it now?

Until someone gets their hands on one and has a good look at what happens at the SysEx level, we don't really know.
