Adding shadow information with preprocessing #1

When I walk through a city during the summer, it's pretty important to know which streets have a sidewalk in shadow. When it's very hot, I would rather walk 60% more, if it's in the shadow. I know it's a big project to add this data into the model, especially as it's depending on the time of the year, time of the day, and placement on the Earth, but there are projects already that deal with rendering shadows. I'm guessing it's possible to take some engine and use it to put shadow data into sidewalks.

Wow!! That's really interesting!!

I agree that to become really complete, my work will need to go beyond the accessibility, dealing also with security and comfort!!!

As long as the project is modular, we can cooperate creating also a "shadow simulator" rendering and some kind of API to request or compute this information in order to be used for routing purposes!!

Find it a great suggestion, but I don't even know from where to start 😅
