I think you are confusing the AEB function, provided by the camera, with the
EAEB script, provided by 400plus.
The AEB function is limited to 3 shots, and must be activated using the shutter
button; 400plus can expand the step between shots (at the "Parameters" menu),
and you can configure the TRASH / JUMP buttons to access it quickly. But it is
still the AEB function, limited to 3 shots, and must be fired with the shutter
button.
On the other hand, you have the EAEB script, which is not limited to 3 shots,
and must be configured and fired from the "Scripts" menu.
And, let me remember you that the "400plus-20130305-r1758" version is a
"nightly build"; unless you want to test the latest development releases, I
would stick to the official releases.

As explained in the user guide, go to Menu -> Parameters -> AEB and you can
change it up to 6EV... Please, have a look to the documentation before asking;
thanks.

Okay, some more explaining is required....
I don't have the camera in hand now, so I can't test for myself. But as far as
I remember, there is no way you can set Canons AEB beyond 2EV.
I want to
- set AEB +/-3EV
- press shutter button
- camera take 3 pictures: 0/-3/+3 EV
I am not talking about scripting. I need shutter button to take the pictures.
Ultimately I would assign a button to have fast access to AEB. We have that
today, but it is limited to 2EV.
It is all about having a fast way to toggle AEB. Going to the menu is too slow.
Sorry to bother you, but I could not extract this from the guide.
Thank you

From the guide, at "The menu" > "Pages" > "Parameters" > "AEB"
(http://code.google.com/p/400plus/wiki/UserGuide#Parameters): "Same as the
standard AEB, but extends the range from -6 to +6 EV.". Using that entry in
400plus' menu, you can configure the standard AEB function to separate pictures
up to 6EV, and it will work with the shutter button just as you described;
sorry if the documentation is not clear here.
If you feel there is a need to enhance the quick-AEB action, please open a
separate issue, and I'll be glad to discuss about it there; thanks.
