iPhone 4 version coming soon? #72

Hi Tom. I noticed in your responses to some of the other issues that you're
planning to update your apps in the App Store soon. Do your updates include
increasing the resolution to accommodate the new "retina display" on the iPhone
4? I have already purchased the 12C, but the key labels are a little hard to
read in the lower resolution, so I'm hoping you release a native iOS4 version
so I can buy the rest. Thanks!

(Oh, and by "the rest," I mean the 15C and 16C models.)

Hi.

Yes, updates will be coming soon that will support the retina display as well
as the iPad rotations. They'll be what Apple calls universal apps, so they'll
run on both iPhone and iPad and they will be a free upgrade to anyone who has
purchased the calculator already. All four models will be updated: 11C, 12C,
15C, 16C.

Ok, great! I went ahead and purchased the 16C in anticipation of the iOS4
update. Do you have an ETA for availability of the updates in the App Store?

BTW, your calculator apps are *by far* the most faithful representations of the
original hardware. I really don't understand why people buy some of the other
vendors' apps, which are mostly crap...

Thank you for the kind words. I've tried very hard to make these the best
implementations available.
I have one last feature that I'm finishing up this week hopefully and then
submitting to apple. The good news is that apple has been much quicker at
approving updates than in the past, so I would say you should see it available
in the app store in the next 2-3 weeks if everything goes smoothly.

Hi there. Any idea when the iOS4 update you discussed on Aug. 4 will be
available? You had earlier estimated 2-3 weeks. Is Apple delaying your
approvals? I use your apps every day and am anxious for the updates... Thanks!
